
Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on February 18 after he reportedly felt ‘giddy’. Salman Khan was rushed to the hospital as soon as he received the news.
The Khan family has yet to issue an official statement sharing an update on the veteran screenwriter’s health. However, a formal press update is scheduled to be held tomorrow, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11 AM, with the family’s consent, while ensuring patient confidentiality.
In a recent statement to PTI, Dr Jalil Parker, who is treating the screenwriter, revealed that Salim Khan was admitted to the ICU early morning at 8.30 am.
He added that although more information regarding his health is not being released today, Salim Khan's family has given their permission for them to address a press bulletin tomorrow at 11 a.m.
“However, tomorrow at 11 am we shall be addressing a press bulletin with due consent of the relatives and maintaining the confidentiality of the patient to the utmost. He is stable but is under close observation in regards to his clinical status,” he said.
Meanwhile, the latest reports have suggested that Salim Khan has been put on ventilator support for now.
According to Filmfare, Salim Khan was diagnosed with a blood clot due to high blood pressure. He will undergo an operation the next morning.
Several celebrities, including Javed Akhtar, Sanjay Dutt, Iulia Vantur, and others, were spotted outside the hospital as they arrived to meet Salim Khan as soon as they got the news.

Fans have also expressed their concerns and sent wishes for a speedy recovery on social media.
The screenwriter’s most recent public appearance was on his 90th birthday back in November 2025. Helen, his second wife, wrote a heartfelt message for the veteran writer on Instagram. Additionally, she had shared a picture with herself, Salim Khan and Salma Khan.
