Rekha remembers Dharmendra with emotional tribute at his prayer meet, watch video

Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. To commemorate his life and cinematic legacy, the Deol family held a prayer meet on November 27, at Seaside Lawns, Taj Lands End in Mumbai. The event featured a special musical tribute, with Sonu Nigam performing some of Dharmendra’s most iconic songs to honour the veteran actor.

Among the many stars who attended, veteran actress Rekha was seen offering her condolences, reflecting the deep respect she held for Dharmendra both personally and professionally.

Rekha’s presence at the prayer meet became a poignant moment for fans and the film fraternity alike. Dressed in simple white traditional attire, the actress participated in the rituals and spent time with Dharmendra’s family, expressing her grief over the loss of one of Bollywood’s most iconic figures.

Known for his charismatic screen presence and versatile roles over six decades, Dharmendra was a contemporary of many actors, including Rekha, and their shared history in the industry added an emotional layer to the tribute.

Rekha and Dharmendra shared the screen in several notable Bollywood films, creating a memorable on-screen pairing that balanced Dharmendra’s rugged, action-hero persona with Rekha’s graceful and powerful presence. Some of their prominent collaborations include Jaani Dost, Rajput, Batwara, and Kshatriya.

Legendary actor Dharmendra, had been hospitalized earlier in November due to breathing difficulties but was discharged before his health suddenly declined. Dharmendra, who would have turned 90 on 8 December, spent his final moments surrounded by family.

He is survived by his wives, Hema Malini and Prakash Kaur, and six children: Sunny, Bobby, Esha, Ahana, Ajeeta, and Vijeta Deol. Professionally, he was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya alongside Shahid Kapoor. His final film will be Ikkis, based on the life of war hero Arun Khetarpal.
