Rajpal Yadav’s co-star and long-time friend Padam Singh has recently addressed the circumstances surrounding the former’s involvement in a cheque bounce case about his 2012 movie Ata Pata Laapata.

Rajpal is currently dealing with both personal and legal issues as a result of the litigation, which is based on unpaid obligations accumulated throughout the film's problematic production.

However, Padam has recently talked about the project's beginnings as well as the financial strains that followed its publication.

During a recent interview with NDTV, Padam explained the reasons for Ata Pata Laapata and emphasised Rajpal's vision for the project.

The actor said, “He made Ata Pata Laapata with very forward-thinking and with great sincerity. He directed it himself, and most people in the film industry worked on it enthusiastically. Secondly, the investment that came in for the film at that time kept increasing with interest. He is a very mentally strong person and has the strength to face any situation. He has the blessings of Gurudev.”

Padam claims that actors Om Puri, Asrani, Govind Namdev, Dara Singh, and Ashutosh Rana were in the movie. According to him, a large number of these performers joined because they were kind and believed in the project's goal.

He also said that, rather than carelessness, the debt issue was caused by financial strain and unfavourable consequences.
