The Hindi film industry is no stranger to strong opinions, but actor Prashant Narayanan’s recent remarks about Kartik Aaryan have certainly caught attention for their bluntness.
In a candid interview with Bollywood Bubble, as quoted by Hindustan Times, Prashant Narayanan did not mince words while speaking about Kartik Aaryan’s acting. “I think he is one of the most terrible actors we have over here, but an extremely lucky person. He is only surviving because of his parents’ blessings. I feel that he is an extremely non-communicative and boosted by people around him kind of person. I liked him in the first film that he did (Pyaar Ka Punchnama),” Prashant Narayanan said.
It is the kind of statement that instantly divides opinion — some may see it as harsh criticism, others as an example of unfiltered honesty. Prashant Narayanan, known for his intense roles in films like Murder 2 and Ghost, has always carried a reputation for speaking his mind.
This time, his comments have sparked fresh debate about talent, luck and perception in Bollywood.
When asked why audiences continue to flock to Kartik Aaryan’s films, Prashant Narayanan offered a provocative take. “I don’t know how many people are appreciating them, but I have seen people laughing at them. So, if you can make people laugh, that is a good enough thing. There is a difference between when you are laughing with somebody and when you are laughing at somebody. The Indian audiences are mostly laughing at somebody,” he added.
Yet, beyond criticism lies a different reality. Kartik Aaryan has built his career steadily, beginning with Pyaar Ka Punchnama and going on to headline successful films such as Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Luka Chuppi, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Shehzada and Satyaprem Ki Katha.

His rise has been marked by both box office wins and a loyal fan base that connects with his boy-next-door persona.
Currently, Kartik Aaryan is filming Naagzilla, where he will play Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichadaari Naag. The fantasy entertainer, backed by prominent producers including Karan Johar and Mahaveer Jain, is slated for release on 14 August 2026.
