Music composer, singer, and filmmaker Palash Muchhal has taken legal action against actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, filing a Rs 10 crore defamation suit in response to what he describes as “false, outrageous and highly defamatory” accusations of cheating and financial fraud. The lawsuit comes after Mane made public allegations that Muchhal cheated him out of Rs 40 lakh and was involved in misconduct surrounding a film project and personal matters that have also drawn widespread media attention.
According to reports, Vidnyan Mane — a Sangli-based actor and producer — claimed he invested Rs 40 lakh with Muchhal in connection with an unreleased film project titled Nazaria, alleging that Muchhal promised profits and even a role in the movie but ultimately failed to deliver results or returns.
In response, Palash took to his Instagram account on Saturday evening to share, “A legal notice of defamation of Rs 10 crore has been sent by my lawyer Shreyansh Mithare to Sangli based Vidnyan Mane for his false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations made with the deliberate intent to malign my reputation and character.”
Vidnyan Mane, a Sangli-based actor-producer and childhood friend of cricketer Smriti Mandhana, has made serious claims against Palash Muchhal, alleging both financial and personal misconduct. Mane’s complaint says he invested a total of Rs 40 lakh in a film project called Nazariya after Muchhal purportedly promised profits and a role in the production, but the project never materialised and Mane did not get his money back; he then approached the police seeking action.
He has also made more sensational allegations, claiming that Muchhal was “caught red-handed with another woman” during wedding celebrations with Mandhana, though Muchhal has denied all such accusations and labelled them baseless.
