Kapil Sharma’s comedy sequel Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is set for a theatrical re-release in January 2026, after its initial run in December was cut short due to stiff competition at the box office, the makers have announced. Released on 12 December 2025, the film initially received positive audience responses but struggled to secure screens amidst big-ticket releases dominating multiplexes.

The makers stated that the film's "theatrical run was impacted by limited screen availability due to ongoing multiplex takeovers by other releases."

They further added, "Even with limited screens, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 managed to make audiences laugh, entertain and relive the franchise's charm with its light-hearted comedy and situational humour. Keeping the ongoing excitement of the fans in mind, Producer Mr. Ratan Jain have decided to re-release the film once again in January 2026," the note added. A new release date, however, is yet to be announced. As per Sacnilk, the film managed to earn Rs 1.85 crore on day one of its release, and collected over Rs 12.31 crore so far in India.

The comedy sequel — a follow-up to the 2015 hit Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon — stars Kapil Sharma in the lead role alongside Ayesha Khan, Manjot Singh, Parul Gulati and Tridha Choudhury, among others. Directed by Anukalp Goswami and produced by Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain and Abbas-Mustan, the film centres on Kapil’s character juggling multiple marriages with comedic chaos and light-hearted storytelling.

Box office reports indicated that the film’s initial theatrical run was overshadowed by the blockbuster success of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which dominated screens and audience attention in early December, and other major releases that followed. This limited screen presence made it tougher for Kapil’s film to maintain box office momentum despite its fan appeal.

With the re-release set for January 2026, the producers hope to tap into a quieter window in the theatre calendar and give audiences who missed the first run a chance to catch the comedy on the big screen.

A specific re-release date has not yet been announced.
