Bollywood director Kiran Rao has recently provided an update on her health. She is down with chikungunya and has issued a warning to her followers.

She took to her Instagram Story and provided a glimpse into her healing process. She also shared a glimpse of her friends' affection and support throughout her recuperation.

Kiran shared a picture of herself lying on a sofa and smiling for the camera. She was also staring into the camera while her pet cat sat close to her feet.

Sharing the picture on her Instagram Story on Tuesday and wrote, “Ok folks, I now have chikungunya and yes Miri is an excellent paramedic, timely monitoring her mamma's fever."

She continued her update on her recovery journey in the next post and wrote, “Taking it slow, admiring my friends' cards, and catching up on my reading — when I can hold up the book! I know you know this but the joint pain is so (skeleton face emoji, exploding head emoji). TAKE ALL PRECAUTIONS."

On the work front, Kiran made her comeback to direction with the critically-acclaimed Netflix film, Laapataa Ladies, which starred Sparsh Shrivastava along with two newcomers, Pratibha Ranta and Nitanshi Goel, in lead roles.

The film also starred Ravi Kishan and initially failed to make a mark at the box office. Eventually, the film won over the audience following its OTT debut.
