Bollywood star kid Khushi Kapoor is all set to play a significant role in Mom 2, the highly anticipated sequel to her late mother Sridevi’s acclaimed 2017 thriller Mom.
According to sources, the young actress — who made her Bollywood debut with The Archies in 2023 — is currently shooting for the film at the newly inaugurated Noida International Film City in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The project marks a major milestone for Khushi as she continues to establish her presence in Hindi cinema while honouring her mother’s legacy.
The original Mom, directed by Ravi Udyawar and starring Sridevi in a powerful role as a mother seeking justice for her daughter, earned widespread critical praise for its emotional depth and gripping storyline.
As per NDTV, now nearly a decade later, the sequel will bring the story to a new generation, with Khushi stepping into an important part alongside other notable actors.
According to Boney Kapoor, the film’s producer and Sridevi’s husband, shooting has officially begun at International Film City, marking it as the first major production to be filmed at the sprawling new facility along the Yamuna Expressway.
The project is helmed by director Girish Kohli, known for his involvement in the original film’s writing, and also features actors like Karishma Tanna and Jisshu Sengupta in key roles. This sequel aims to blend compelling drama with action, while retaining the emotional core that made the first film memorable. The production team has praised the film city’s infrastructure and facilities, highlighting its potential as a major hub for Indian and international filmmaking once fully operational.
Khushi Kapoor, who is Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's younger daughter, has also featured in movies such as Loveyapa and Nadaaniyan.
