  • Gangster Mahfooz, aka Bobby Kabootar, arrested after 7 years
  • Allegedly supplied weapons for shooting outside Disha Patani's house
  • Mahfooz tied to serious crimes and organized crime networks

After nearly seven years of evading arrest, Mahfooz — known in criminal circles as Bobby Kabootar — has finally been taken into custody, marking a major breakthrough for law enforcement agencies.

As per News18, the Delhi Police Special Cell’s Counter-Intelligence team apprehended the alleged gangster near the Delhi–Gurugram border during a carefully coordinated operation. For investigators who had been tracking his movements for years, the arrest brings a long pursuit to an end.

Mahfooz is accused of playing a significant role in the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s house in Bareilly.

According to investigators, he allegedly supplied weapons to the shooters involved in the attack, with reports suggesting that the firearms were sourced from abroad.

Authorities are now questioning him to determine on whose instructions he arranged the weapons and whether the incident was part of a larger conspiracy.

Described by police as a close aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Mahfooz is considered a key figure in organised crime networks operating out of North East Delhi.

Over the years, his name has surfaced in multiple serious cases, drawing the attention of both Delhi Police and the National Investigation Agency.

He was also wanted under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), reflecting the seriousness of the allegations against him.

Among the most grave charges is his alleged involvement in the murder of the Nadeem Brothers. Police claim he fired the maximum number of shots during that attack, indicating what they believe was a direct and active role.

The firing outside Disha Patani’s residence had already seen dramatic developments. Two shooters — identified as Ravindra alias Kallu and Arun — were killed in a police encounter near Ghaziabad’s Tronica City. The two, believed to be members of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, were tracked down after being spotted on the same motorcycle used in the September 12 attack.

A joint operation by the Delhi Police, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force and Haryana STF led to a shootout in which both were critically injured and later succumbed to their injuries. Three other accused had been arrested earlier in the case.
