Dhurandhar has been one of the most successful Indian films at the box office, both nationally and overseas. The movie made over $33 million abroad, even though it was not released in Pakistan or the Middle East.
The Aditya Dhar movie's distributor asserted last month that the movie lost $10 million as a result of not being released in these markets. Now that the movie has been released globally on Netflix, it appears that the claim wasn't all that implausible. Within days of its debut, Dhurandhar is at the top of the Netflix trending list in Pakistan as people attempt to figure out why the movie is so "controversial."
Over the weekend, screenshots of Netflix Pakistan's top movie, Dhurandhar, appeared on social media.
The Big Fake and Bollywood movies like Tere Ishk Mein and Haq were screened after the Ranveer Singh film.
Dhurandhar has been the top-trending movie on Netflix Pakistan since at least Saturday, according to independent confirmation from Hindustan Times. Eight weeks after its theatrical premiere, the movie was released digitally on Friday, January 30.
