Deepika Padukone has been consistently sharing heartfelt and relatable glimpses of motherhood on social media ever since she welcomed her daughter Dua with Ranveer Singh.
In her latest Instagram Story, Deepika reposted a candid video with a note that perfectly captured the emotional tug-of-war many mothers experience — the guilt of stepping away from their child while simultaneously longing for a little personal space.
The note on the video read, "There… I said it! My toxic trait is loving my child so much that I dont want anyone else watching them… but I desperately need a break… but I can’t stand being without them… but I also crave 24 hours of silence… but I still want to be with them 24/7."
Deepika has openly embraced this new chapter of her life. Her Instagram display picture reflects that sentiment beautifully, featuring the words “In My Mom Era” in bold letters set against a serene, earthy-toned backdrop, symbolising her deep connection to motherhood.
The couple welcomed their baby girl in September 2024 and, after weeks of excitement and anticipation among fans, revealed her name, Dua, in November.
Earlier, in a candid interaction with CNBC TV18, Deepika spoke about how motherhood has transformed her personality, especially socially. She admitted that she has never naturally been a social person, but motherhood has nudged her in new directions.
“It's made me more social. I've never been a social person. Having to interact with other parents and now playschool... These words feel so funny suddenly. But I just think motherhood really pushes you out of your comfort zone, in a good way. At least for me, it's been in a good way," she stated.

Dua celebrated her first birthday in September last year. The following day, Deepika shared a touching glimpse from the celebration on Instagram — a picture of a homemade cake that captured the warmth and intimacy of the special occasion.
Following her daughter’s birth in September 2024, Deepika also stepped back from professional commitments to focus on her family. She is now gearing up for her next big-screen appearance in King, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The film is slated for release on December 24, 2026.
