Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is being dubbed as the highly anticipated film of the year, with new reports about the potential collaboration, increasing the excitement among the fans.
According to social media posts and industry rumours, renowned Hollywood director Christopher Nolan has been asked to supervise the final edit and post-production of the eagerly awaited legendary epic.
Meanwhile, neither the director nor the producers has released an official statement about the collaboration with Nolan.
According to the rumours, which initially surfaced on social media, producer Namit Malhotra has apparently hired Christopher Nolan for a lengthy post-production role.
Additionally, it is claimed that Nolan and his regular partner and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema may work together for 72 days beginning in August 2026 to improve the film's technical and visual elements.
These unconfirmed allegations state that Oscar-winning editor Jennifer Lame would do the cutting under Nolan's supervision, while Nolan would oversee the final edit. Van Hoytema is also supposedly slated to oversee the technical mastering and colour grading for IMAX displays.
The viral post read, "Ramayana Update: Post-production led by Christopher Nolan and Hoyte van Hoytema. Namit Malhotra and Charles Rowen have hired Hoyte van Hoytema for an intense 72-day period starting August 2026. Nolan already knows the story and will handle the film's final cut, while Jennifer Lame will edit the film under his guidance."
The report added, "Van Hoytema will oversee the film's visual look, including colour grading and preparing it for IMAX screens. Nitesh Tiwari is looking forward to working with Nolan during this process, which will continue until October 22, ahead of the November 8 release."
The movie's current reliance on cutting-edge technology is said to support the rumours about Nolan's involvement. Actress Indira Krishnan, who will portray Queen Kaushalya, has already acknowledged that the film made use of an advanced 86-camera setup—the same apparatus purportedly employed for Christopher Nolan's 2014 science fiction blockbuster, Interstellar.
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.
Ramayana: Part 1 will hit the theatres on November 8, 2026, followed by the second instalment releasing in late 2027.
