Sunny Deol’s Border 2 has crossed the Rs 300 crore net mark at the Indian box office, solidifying its status as one of Bollywood’s biggest hits of 2026. According to industry trackers, the Indo-Pak war drama earned approximately Rs 4.25 crore on its 16th day in theatres, bringing its total domestic takings to around Rs 301.50 crore.
While this milestone places Border 2 ahead of several major films, including War 2, Raid 2, Sitaare Zameen Par and Sikandar, it narrowly trails the lifetime collections of Padmaavat (Rs 302.15 crore) and other blockbusters like Saiyaara and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Released on January 23, 2026, Border 2 opened strong over the Republic Day weekend, collecting roughly Rs 224.25 crore in its first week. The film maintained solid momentum through its second weekend despite a sharp mid-week dip in weekday earnings. In its second week, the film added around Rs 70.15 crore to its total, though trade analysts noted a significant decline compared to the opening week’s pace. Still, its ability to attract audiences into the third week has been noteworthy for a film in this genre, especially as competition increases with new releases.
On day 16, the film’s overall occupancy hovered around 15.88%, with attendance picking up significantly during evening and night shows. Regional performance data showed the strongest show counts in key Hindi-speaking markets, led by the Delhi NCR region with over 600 shows, followed by Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

The film’s box office run has also etched notable achievements on Sunny Deol’s career chart. Border 2 has become the second-highest grosser of his career, surpassing older hits like Jaat and the 1997 classic Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. With a mix of patriotic fervour, action sequences, and a multi-star cast including Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh, Border 2 continues to draw audiences even as its theatrical windows begin to narrow.
