Veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi recently reassured fans after being involved in a late-night road accident in Guwahati along with his wife, Rupali Barua. The incident took place late Friday night when the couple was crossing a street after dinner at Zoo Road, near The Guwahati Address Hotel, and were struck by a speeding motorcycle.
According to local reports, the accident occurred when a high-speed bike approached from the Chandmari side and hit Vidyarthi and Rupali as they tried to cross the road. Both sustained injuries from the impact and were immediately attended to by locals and emergency services. The motorcyclist was also injured and taken to Gauhati Medical College Hospital for treatment, while Vidyarthi and his wife received medical care at a nearby facility. Police from the Geetanagar Police Station have registered the case and are conducting further inquiries.
Soon after the news spread, Ashish Vidyarthi took to social media to address concerned fans and clarify the situation. In his video, Ashish Vidyarthi said, “Just to let you all know, because I’m seeing all kinds of things being reported on many news channels. Rupali and I were crossing a street yesterday when a bike hit us. We are both fine. Rupali is under observation, and everything is okay. I’m good too. I’ve had a small injury, but that’s it. I’m absolutely fine. I am walking, talking, standing—everything is normal."
Vidyarthi, who has had a long and distinguished career in Indian cinema — featuring roles in Vaastav: The Reality, Refugee, Soldier and The Traitors reality show — expressed his gratitude for the concern, thanking fans, well-wishers, emergency responders and hospital staff for their support. He also shared that he checked on the motorcyclist’s condition and was informed that the rider had regained consciousness.
