Megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently watched Ikkis, which had a great opening at the box office in early 2026. The film features the veteran actor’s grandson, Agastya Nanda, in the lead role.

However, Amitabh Bachchan has recently showered praise and celebrated the decent box office run of Ikkis. He took to his Instagram and shared a poster of the film, which indicates 'Ikkis' has opened 2026 on a solid note at the domestic box office, collecting Rs 22.05 crore within its first four days of release.

With Day 1 earnings of Rs 7.28 crore and Day 2 earnings of Rs 4.02 crore, the movie had a great start. With earnings of Rs 5.05 crore on Day 3 and Rs 5.70 crore on Day 4, the momentum built up during the weekend, bringing the total net box office collection in India to Rs 22.05 crore.

Alongside the poster, the veteran actor penned in the caption, “YO .. Agastya .. way to go .." However, Navya Nanda also cheered for Agastya in her social media post.

Ikkis is based on the remarkable life of India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. The film, which is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak War, chronicles Arun's journey from his early military training to the front lines, showcasing his bravery, patriotism, and ultimate sacrifice at the age of just 21.

In the movie, Agastya plays Khetarpal, and in his last role, cinematic icon Dharmendra plays his father. The film marks the last on-screen appearance of the legendary veteran actor Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24 due to age-related ailments.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film also stars Rahul Dev, Sikander Kher, Suhasini Mulay, and Jaideep Ahlawat in the key roles.

Ikkis hit the theatres on January 1, 2026.
