Bollywood actor Ameesha Patel has reacted after a Moradabad court in Uttar Pradesh issued a fresh non-bailable warrant against her in connection with a 2017 event-related financial dispute. The warrant was reportedly issued after the actor failed to appear before the court despite a previous summons in the long-pending case.

The matter dates back to an alleged agreement for a wedding performance in Moradabad, where an event organiser claimed that Ameesha had accepted an advance payment but did not attend the event. According to the complaint, a substantial amount—reported to be between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 14.5 lakh—was paid as an advance. The organiser further alleged that a cheque issued later as part of a settlement bounced, leading to legal proceedings under charges related to cheating and financial misconduct.

Following the fresh warrant, the actress issued a statement calling the case “old and settled.” In a statement, Ameesha said, "Media reports suggest about certain proceedings at Moradabad by one Pawan Verma. I wish to inform one and all that this is a 15 year old matter in which the said Pawan Verma had signed a settlement deed and received the entire agreed amount. Despite this it seems he has lodged proceedings making false allegations. My lawyers are initiating appropriate criminal proceedings of cheating against this person to expose his lies and deceit while I prefer to focus on my work and ignore people who choose to make a public spectacle for gaining attention on false pretexts."

Sources indicate that the court has directed Ameesha to appear by March 27, 2026. Failure to comply could result in further legal consequences. Meanwhile, she has said she respects the judiciary and will handle the issue through due legal process.
