Dhurandhar has truly taken the country by storm. Ever since its release, the spy thriller has enjoyed an overwhelming response from audiences, quickly cementing its place as a blockbuster.
Directed by Aditya Dhar and fronted by a gripping performance from Ranveer Singh, the film has not only dominated the box office but also sparked repeat viewings, fan discussions and a growing sense of anticipation for what comes next.
With excitement running high, fans are eagerly waiting for Dhurandhar 2, which is slated for a theatrical release on March 19.
The buzz became even louder when reports began doing the rounds suggesting that the makers might postpone the sequel to avoid a box-office clash with Yash’s much-anticipated film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups.
However, Aditya Dhar was quick to shut down the speculation and personally reassure fans that there is no delay in plans.
The director’s response came after several fans took to Instagram Stories to express their love for the first film and tag him in their posts. Many shared how they had returned to theatres multiple times, unable to get enough of the high-octane thriller.
One particularly emotional message read, “I think it is more than a week since I went to watch Dhurandhar for a second time in the theatre and honestly, I am still obsessed with it, and I still feel like watching it again and again… You are truly a GOAT director, can't wait for Dhurandhar 2! India is blessed to have a director like you!”
Aditya Dhar reshared the post and responded with warmth, writing, “So sweet! Thanks! See you in cinemas on 19th March!” The simple reply was enough to send fans into celebration mode.
The sequel is expected to dive deeper into the world established in the first film. Inspired by real-life events such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, Dhurandhar 2 will explore the backstory of Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza.

The film will trace his journey from Lyari to the completion of a dangerous covert anti-terror operation. The cast also features Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi, adding further weight to the narrative.
Meanwhile, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas, marks Yash’s return to the big screen after KGF: Chapter 2. With an ensemble cast including Rukmini Vasanth, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair, the stage is set for a major box-office showdown.
