Actor Ananya Panday recently revealed that after the failure of Liger, she advised her father, Chunky Panday, not to give her suggestions on film choices, implying that he might have recommended the 2022 film, which starred Vijay Deverakonda. Liger was a big flop. She also jokingly suggested that he delete his Instagram account to prevent issues caused by his random likes.
The father-daughter duo appeared on We Are Yuvaa’s show Be A Parent Yaar, where they had an open conversation. During the chat, Ananya asked her father, “Do you think I am a good actor?” Chunky humorously replied, "At home or on screen?" He also playfully teased her about being very careful with reading scripts before accepting roles. In response, Ananya joked, “You are not allowed to give me advice after Liger.”
The pan-Indian action thriller Liger generated high expectations but ended up being a box office disappointment, receiving criticism from both audiences and critics.
Later in the conversation, Ananya addressed her father’s Instagram habits, saying, "You on Instagram needs to be deleted because you just keep liking anything without reading it and getting them into more trouble." Chunky humorously defended himself, saying, "I just keep liking wherever I see your photograph."

The duo also touched upon the topic of nepotism in Bollywood. Chunky asked Ananya if she felt privileged to be his daughter, to which Ananya candidly replied, "Nepotism has this shame attached to it. But I don’t want to not be known as your daughter."
On the work front, Chunky Panday will next be seen in Housefull 5. Ananya has had a successful year, with her show Call Me Bae and Netflix film Ctrl both receiving positive feedback from viewers.
