Abhishek Bachchan gears up for his upcoming dance drama, Be Happy. The film revolves around the relationship of a father and daughter. However, Abhishek has recently revealed that how his own experience as a father to Aaradhya Bachchan helped him a lot in preparing for the film.
In a recent interview with PTI, Abhishek shared, “It just makes it that much easier if you can draw a parallel to your life or if there’s an emotion that you have experienced.”
The actor further noted his 13-year-old daughter, Aaradhya, influenced his portrayal of Shiv. He explained, “As an actor, you always look for an emotional connection to a role. But when you can relate it to real-life experiences, it deepens the impact and makes the process even more seamless.”
However, Abhishek also highlighted how Indian cinema didn’t have many films exploring the father-daughter relationship. He then praised Be Happy for tackling the complexities of a family coping with the loss of a mother.

The film follows the emotional journey of a father-in-law, son-in-law, and granddaughter as they navigate this profound absence. Abhishek plays a father who tries to fill the void left by a mother. He acknowledged that while no one can replace a mother's presence, parents strive to provide the best for their children, often going above and beyond to fulfill their needs.
The upcoming film, Be Happy, also features Inayat Verma, Nora Fatehi, Nassar, Johnny Lever, and Harleen Sethi in the lead role. Abhishek has previously worked with Inayat in his 2020 comedy-drama, Ludo.
The film is produced under Remo D’Souza Entertainment Pvt Ltd and is backed by Lizelle Remo D’Souza. Be Happy is set to premiere on Prime Video on March 14.
