Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has voiced his support for his son, Abhishek Bachchan, acknowledging that he has unfairly become a "victim of nepotism" despite his impressive body of work in the industry.

Sr Bachchan has always been a strong pillar of support for Abhishek, standing by him through the intense scrutiny that comes with being the son of two iconic figures in Bollywood. Amidst the challenges, he has consistently defended Abhishek, particularly when it comes to the ongoing accusations of nepotism.

On Wednesday, the 82-year-old superstar once again showcased his unwavering admiration for his son, responding to a social media post that praised Abhishek for his diverse and impressive filmography while also defending him against the negative narrative surrounding nepotism.

The post, which caught Amitabh Bachchan’s attention, read: "Abhishek Bachchan unnecessarily became the victim of ‘nepotism’ negativity, but the number of good films in his filmography is very high."

In response to this, the legendary actor posted a heartfelt message supporting Abhishek, where he praised his son's remarkable ability to adapt to a wide range of roles. Amitabh wrote, "I feel the same .. and not just because I am his Father"

In another post, on a poster of Abhishek's upcoming film Be Happy, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “Abhishek, you are extraordinary .. how you adapt and change with each film character is an art, which is incredible .. love you, Bhaiyu”

Amitabh Bachchan further showered praise on his son’s persona, writing, “Superior .. Abhishek .. stunning .. Abhishek .. the walk, the grace and .. THE STYLE .. and no fuss, just a normal being .. away from the unnecessary display of excitement or attention-seeking.” The admiration and affection in these words reflect not only his pride as a father but also his respect for his son’s down-to-earth nature amidst the pressures of the film industry.

Abhishek has often faced comparisons to his father and his wife, former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, which has often drawn social media scrutiny. However, in a candid interview earlier this year, Abhishek shared how he has become "immune" to these comparisons over the years. "If you're comparing me to my father, you're comparing me to the best," he explained. "And if I'm being compared to the best, then maybe I'm worthy of being considered alongside these great names." He added.

On the work front, Abhishek Bachchan is currently preparing for his upcoming film Be Happy, a dance drama directed by Remo D’Souza. The film will see him reunite with his Ludo co-star Inayat Verma, with the duo playing father and daughter. As for Amitabh, he continues to be a prominent figure in the entertainment world, currently busy shooting for the popular TV reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
