Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par hit the theatres on June 20 and has already broken several box office records. The film opened in the theatres with positive reviews and continues to captivate the audience.
However, Sitaare Zameen Par has recently earned a whopping Rs 140 crore worldwide in just a week, with Rs 88.56 crore net added from India alone. Meanwhile, an impressive Rs 34 crore came from the overseas market. With the second weekend approaching, the film is expected to see a surge at the box office.
The film has now officially surpassed the lifetime collection of Sunny Deol's starrer Jaat, which had collected Rs 88.26 crore net in India.
Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh star alongside 10 debutants: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film is produced by Aamir Khan, Aparna Purohit and Ravi Bhagchandka under Aamir Khan Productions. Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned the lyrics of the film with the music composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma.

Sitaare Zameen Par is the spiritual sequel to the 2007 hit film Taare Zameen Par. The recently released film revolves around the story of a basketball coach, played by Aamir Khan, who receives a DUI and is mandated by the court to teach a group of neurodivergent individuals the sport.
Genelia plays the wife of Aamir's character. The film has been receiving rave reviews from both the audience and the critics.
