UP election schedule 2024: It is said that the road to Delhi goes through Lucknow since Uttar Pradesh sends as many as 80 members to the Lok Sabha.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, BJP won 62 out of the 80 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh.

Voting for the 80 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will take place in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, the Election Commission announced at a media briefing on March 16. The counting of votes will begin on June 4 .

In 2019 Lok Sabha elections were conducted across all seven phases from April 11 to May 19, with each phase covering multiple constituencies.

It is said that the road to Delhi goes through Lucknow since Uttar Pradesh sends as many as 80 members to the Lok Sabha, the highest among all the states. Watch the EC presser here.

In the previous two Lok Sabha elections, BJP has outshined every party in the state by cornering a majority of the seats in UP. It further cemented its dominance in UP by winning the state elections back-to-back in 2017 and 2022 respectively. Here is the full schedule.

In the previous elections, BJP won 62 out of the 80 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh while its NDA partner Apna Dal (S) won 2 seats. The saffron party secured an impressive 50% of the votes in the politically crucial state.

In the 2014 elections, the saffron party had won a staggering 71 seats in the politically crucial state.
