  • He credits conceptual clarity and mock test analysis for success

In the highly competitive entrance examination for engineering, achieving a perfect score of 300 out of 300 in the JEE Main is a dream for lakhs. For Pasala Mohith, a student from Sri Chaitanya Campus in Vijayawada, this dream turned into reality in 2026. While his parents are doctors, Mohith carved his own path in mathematics and engineering, and recently shared the secrets of his flawless performance with Eenadu-ETV.

Here is a breakdown of Mohith’s strategy, offering simple yet powerful lessons for every JEE aspirant.

1. The Power of Conceptual Clarity

In a time when students often rely on memorization and practicing thousands of repetitive questions, Mohith took a different approach. He emphasized that success came from studying with a clear understanding of the concept rather than blindly solving numerous problems.

According to Mohith, if your conceptual foundation is weak, unnecessary doubts arise during the exam. This confusion leads to wasted time and broken concentration. His advice is simple: before you start solving, make sure you truly understand the "why" and "how" behind the topic.

2. The Exam Hall Strategy: Start with Mathematics

How you attempt the paper is just as important as how you prepare for it. Mohith shared a specific strategy for the exam hall:

  • Order of Attempt: He advises starting the exam with the Mathematics section.
  • Mindset: As soon as you read a question, the entire method to solve it should come to mind. If it doesn’t, it indicates a gap in preparation.
  • Don't Look Back: Once you have answered a question, do not think about it again. Do not second-guess yourself. Shift your entire focus immediately to the next question. This prevents anxiety and helps maintain a steady pace.

3. Handling Negative Marking

Fear of negative marks can paralyze a student during the exam. Mohith suggests a shift in perspective. Rather than being scared of losing marks, students should focus entirely on how to practice and solve questions correctly. Preparation should be so thorough that the fear of negative marking becomes irrelevant.

4. The Role of Mock Tests and Error Analysis

Mohith credited mock tests as a major factor in his perfect score. However, simply taking tests was not enough. He followed a strict routine of analysis.

After every mock test, he would meticulously note down the mistakes he made in a separate notebook. He made a conscious effort to ensure those specific errors were not repeated. By the time of the final exam, he had prepared so thoroughly that he had eliminated almost all possible mistakes.

5. Support from Family and Future Goals

Interestingly, Mohith comes from a family of doctors. His mother, Dr. Sabita, works as a dentist at Jammalamadugu Regional Hospital, and his father, Dr. P. Kiran Kumar, serves at Proddatur Government Hospital. Despite their medical backgrounds, they recognized their son's passion for mathematics and encouraged him to pursue engineering.

Speaking to Eenadu-ETV, his parents expressed immense happiness over his achievement. Mohith’s dream is crystal clear: He aims to complete his B.Tech from IIT Bombay and later pursue an M.Tech from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Pasala Mohith’s journey proves that success in JEE Main 2026 and beyond does not require superhuman intelligence, but rather a disciplined, focused, and conceptual approach.
