The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Session 2 has started and is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech courses is scheduled in two daily shifts. The first shift on April 4 was held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and has now concluded. Initial student reactions and expert reviews have given a broad idea of the paper’s difficulty and content.

Several coaching institutes, including Sri Chaitanya, have released memory-based question papers and answer keys for the April 4 Shift 1 exam. These are based on student recall and expert evaluation. The subject-wise questions and solutions for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are available in PDF format. These memory-based papers help candidates assess their performance and give those appearing in upcoming shifts an idea of what to expect.

JEE Main 2025 April 4 Shift 1 Exam Question Paper & Answer Key

According to most students, the overall difficulty level of the April 4 Shift 1 paper ranged between easy and moderate. However, the experience differed from subject to subject. Mathematics was widely reported to be the most difficult section. Many candidates shared that questions were tricky and required detailed, time-consuming calculations. Even familiar topics were asked in a more complex manner than expected, which made solving them within the given time more challenging.

Physics was considered to be of moderate difficulty. It included a balanced mix of conceptual and numerical questions. Several students found this section manageable, although a few questions needed careful analysis and application of formulas. Topics such as Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and Optics featured prominently. Some numerical problems were lengthy, but most candidates who had practised similar questions found them doable.

Chemistry, on the other hand, was regarded as the easiest of the three sections. The paper had a greater number of questions from Physical Chemistry, which came as a surprise to a few students. However, the questions were mostly direct and based on standard concepts. Organic Chemistry involved basic reaction mechanisms, and Inorganic Chemistry questions focused on periodic trends and coordination compounds. Students who had revised NCERT content found this section relatively simple to handle.
