A 22-year-old delivery executive was stabbed to death by three minors in Acharya Niketan area of East Delhi’s Mayur Vihar on Monday evening, police authorities have confirmed. The accused juveniles have since been apprehended.

The victim, identified as Arun Raj, a resident of neighbouring Patparganj, succumbed to multiple stab wounds following a brief, violent altercation with the trio.

According to the police account of events, the incident occurred at approximately 8.15 pm. The three accused are alleged to have arrived at the location on a motorcycle, engaged in a short argument with Raj and then attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing the scene.

Officers from the local station responded to a PCR call and found Raj lying injured at the spot. He was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where attending doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

A senior police officer stated that a preliminary medical examination indicated the victim had sustained fatal stab injuries to his neck and chest.

Following the crime, an investigative team immediately cordoned off the area for forensic examination. Investigators also secured and analysed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the vicinity and surrounding approach roads in a bid to identify the perpetrators.

A police spokesperson confirmed that multiple teams were formed and raids were conducted at suspected locations, leading to the apprehension of the accused juveniles.

While the swift police action led to the detention of the three minors, the precise motive behind the fatal altercation remains unclear. Authorities have confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is currently underway to establish the circumstances that led to the violent confrontation.
