Kia India has introduced new value-oriented variants across two models -- the Syros compact SUV and the Carens Clavis MPV. The company has added the HTK(EX) trim to the Syros range and the HTE(EX) trim to the Carens Clavis line-up, strengthening its presence in the mass-market segments with feature-rich offerings at competitive price points.
The new HTK(EX) trim of the Syros is priced at Rs 9,89,000 (ex-showroom) for the petrol version and Rs 10,63,900 (ex-showroom) for the diesel version. With this addition, the Syros range now comprises seven trims. Based on the existing HTK(O), the HTK(EX) adds several comfort, convenience and styling features aimed at improving the overall value proposition.
The Syros HTK(EX) is equipped with LED DRLs, LED headlamps and taillamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, streamlined door handles, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs and a rear parking camera with sensors. On the safety front, the variant continues to offer over 20 safety features, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist and vehicle stability management.
The Syros has two engine options -- Smartstream 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol (120PS and 172Nm) and 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel (116PS and 250Nm). A 6-speed manual transmission is standard. As far as the automatic transmission option goes, the petrol unit gets a 7-speed DCT, while the diesel unit can be had with a 6-speed AT.
The new HTE(EX) trim has been added to the internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the Carens Clavis. It is priced at Rs 12,54,900 for the G1.5 petrol, Rs 13,41,900 for the G1.5 turbo-petrol and Rs 14,52,900 for the D1.5 diesel, all prices being ex-showroom. The new trim is offered exclusively in a seven-seater configuration and is available across all powertrains.
A key highlight of the Carens Clavis HTE(EX) is the introduction of an electric sunroof in the G1.5 petrol powertrain for the first time. Additional features include fully automatic temperature control, LED DRLs and position lamps, LED cabin lamps, and an auto up/down driver-side power window. Positioned above the HTE(O) variant, the HTE(EX) is aimed at customers seeking premium comfort and convenience features at a relatively accessible price point.
The Carens Clavis has three engine options -- Smartstream 1.5-litre T-GDi petrol (160PS and 253Nm), Smartstream 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115PS and 144Nm) and 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel (116PS and 250Nm). The transmission choices include 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT with T-GDi petrol, 6-speed MT with naturally aspirated petrol, and 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT with diesel.
