A step closer: Foxconn starts trial production of Apple's iPhone 8

Foxconn which assembles Apple’s flagship product has started the trial production of iPhone 8, iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. All three models are expected to be launched together.

A tipster - Benjamin Geskin -  quoting sources from Foxconn said that "iPhone 8 is not delayed."

He tweeted, “Source: “Zhengzhou Foxconn has started trial production of 3 new iPhones (7s,7s Plus, “8”) About 200 units per day. iPhone 8 is not delayed.”

This confirms JP Morgan’s analyst Rod Hall’s prediction that iPhone would be launched in September this year by the tech giant. This also follows Apple’s traditional launch schedule, as per a report by Indian Express.

Hall had predicted initially that iPhone 8 will be available in limited quantities of two million units and a selling price of around USD 1100.

There have been various other reports which predicted the launch around September. However, Apple has not said anything in this regard.

This year’s launch is special as 2017 also marks the tenth anniversary of Apple iPhone. As the launch date is getting closer, the rumours and leaks are getting more frequent.

The phone is anticipated to have a bezel-less 5.8-inch OLED display. The phone will also boast of a dual rear camera, according to various leaks.

One report in a Japanese blog Macotakara said that the phone is likely to have Face ID with Iris recognition and 3-D Face authentication technology. It also believed that Touch ID will not be embedded into the power button but somewhere else.
