Ultratech Cement's despatches up 2% in June

UltraTech Cement, a division of the Aditya Birla Group, today reported an increase of 2% in its despatches for June at 32.20 lakh metric tonne, as against despatches of 31.56 lakh metric tonne during the same month last year.

UltraTech Cement, a division of the Aditya Birla Group, today reported an increase of 2% in its despatches for June at 32.20 lakh metric tonne, as against despatches of 31.56 lakh metric tonne during the same month last year.

In June, the company also registered a growth of 1.9% in cement production at 32.15 lakh metric tonne, up from 31.55 lakh metric tonne in the corresponding period last year, UltraTech Cement said in a statement issued here.

UltraTech Cement's cumulative despatches during the April-June period of this year stood at 96.60 lakh metric tonne as against 98.89 lakh metric tonne during the first three months of 2010, registering a decline of 2.31 per cent.

During the first quarter of FY12, the company's cement production was 97.04 lakh metric tonne, down 2.67% from the figure of 99.71 lakh metric tonne in the corresponding period of last year.
