After Nandan Nilekani took charge as the non-executive Chairman at Infosys, he declared that senior executives who had left the company will be considered for the CEO post.
BG Srinivas, Ashok Vemuri and TV Mohandas Pai are all in the race to become the company CEO. All of them were ex-executives in the company.
BG Srinivas was the company President, Vemuri headed American operations and was a board member and Mohandas Pai was the CFO and HR director apart from being a board member of Infosys.
Currently, B G Srinivas is Group MD at PCCW group and he has worked in Infosys for 15 years till 2014. Ashok Vemuri who has worked in Infosys for 14 years till 2013, has recently joined Biz, Xerox.
Among the internal executives in the company, the names of Mohit Joshi, Ravi Kumar and Pravin Rao have come up. Pravin Rao is the current COO of Infosys, Ravi Kumar is the deputy COO and Mohit Joshi is president of BFSI, healthcare and life sciences.
Current CFO of Infosys, MD Ranganath may be inducted as one of the board members in the company among the 3-4 board members expected to be added. The company board will have former employees and company veterans.
Nilekani's first day after he returned at Infosys saw him assuring investors that the company is not facing any issues with clients. Expressing skepticism over the company's governance lapses due to Panaya acquisition, he asked for more time to clarify matters related to the deal.
He reached out to clients and employees and sought more time before he laid out his plans on company strategy and governance.
