Response to the release of 'Tiger Zinda Hai' is fantastic: PVR

The sequel of 2012's Ek Tha Tiger hits theatres today. Tiger Zinda Hai releases with some power-packed chases and action sequences and definitely the swag-filled songs!

In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Kamal Gianchandani, CEO-PVR Pictures and Chief of Strategy, PVR Limited discussed more about it.

I won’t call it a bad year because we recently had Golmaal which turned out to be a big success on the Diwali and that coupled with Secret Superstar did numbers which were much more than what we expected, he said.

Tiger Zinda Hai – the kind of response, the excitement that we are seeing in audience is unparalleled, he added.

The early reviews are looking very strong, I think we have a big blockbuster in our hand, said Gianchandani.

PVR has sold roughly about 25 percent of the capacity allocated to Tiger Zinda Hai. 25 percent of the first three days has already been sold and selling 25 percent of your capacity pre-release is a fantastic achievement, he further mentioned.

According to him, Tiger Zinda Hai in the first three days would easily do somewhere around 75 percent occupancy.

Average ticket price for Q3 is at Rs 210, he said.
