With founder Rahul Yadav's exit, online real-estate portal Housing.com is looking at making a clean start.Sources say this has come in the form of a restructuring of its operations. We learn that this exercise has also involved a large number of employees being given the pink slip. That's because the company is shutting down 3 verticals: commercial, land and short-stays. Sources say a few of the people working in these verticals have been asked to either move to the digital or tech teams, or quit.We learn that the rationale behind this restructuring is two-fold. One: walk away from verticals that are not generating revenues and clean up the operations to get ready for fresh rounds of fund-raising. And two: monetise assets as the flab is cut away. In response to our queries on the matter, Housing told CNBC-TV18: "As we continue to bring clear focus on our core product, all our efforts are centred around bringing efficiencies to our business, as these are key to our long-term success. In doing (the) same, we have identified some non-core business areas which we do not intend to continue."
