Notorious gangster Goldy Dhillon, who is linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has claimed responsibility for an indiscriminate shooting outside the home of Canada-based businessman Jasvir Dhesi in Brampton, according to media reports.
The attack took place on January 12 and was captured on video, which has since circulated widely on social media. The footage shows a man running across ice-covered ground while firing shots in the direction of Dhesi’s residence.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Dhillon claimed responsibility for the attack in a social media post. “I am Goldy Dhillon of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. On 12/01/2026, the shooting that took place at the residence of Jasvir Dhesi in Canada's Ontario. I take responsibility for it. This Jasvir Dhesi supports our enemies. Anyone who goes against us will meet the same fate,” he said.
The incident comes as the Lawrence Bishnoi-linked gang continues to publicly assert its involvement in violent attacks across Canada, despite having been designated a terrorist organisation by Canadian authorities.
Dhillon has previously claimed responsibility for other shootings in the country, including an attack at comedian Kapil Sharma’s café in Canada. Authorities have confirmed that he also took responsibility for that incident.
In India, another gangster associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Goldy Brar, had earlier claimed responsibility for a shooting outside actor Disha Patani’s residence last year. In that case, Brar alleged that the actor’s family had disrespected Sanatana Dharma through remarks made against saints Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj.
A social media post claiming responsibility for that incident also issued a warning to the film industry and concluded with the slogan “Jai Shri Ram.”
