US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has undergone a dramatic transformation over the past year, crediting his leadership and “America First” policies for what he described as renewed global prominence.
Speaking on Friday, Trump said the country had reversed its fortunes under his administration. “One year ago, our country was dead. Now we are the hottest country anywhere in the world because we finally have a president who puts America first,” he said.

The president repeated the assertion at a political event on Saturday, again portraying the turnaround as a result of his policy agenda. He accused the previous administration of former president Joe Biden, along with its allies in Congress, of widespread financial mismanagement.
Trump alleged that the earlier administration had “looted” the US Treasury, claiming that trillions of dollars were misused. He said the alleged mismanagement had fuelled rising prices and placed added economic pressure on ordinary Americans.
The remarks form part of Trump’s broader narrative positioning his presidency as a sharp break from his predecessor, particularly on economic stewardship and global standing.
