




Addressing party workers on Friday at an event organised as part of the birth centenary celebrations of late Bal Thackeray, his father and the founder of the undivided Shiv Sena, Uddhav said many people are trying to erase the Thackeray name, but it won't happen.
With MNS's backing, the Shiv Sena has effectively gained the support of 58 corporators, significantly boosting its prospects in the civic body and further consolidating its control over KDMC.
Uddhav Thackeray had made the “God willing” comment during his first public interaction with party workers after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election results.
Raj Thackeray, in a post on X, described the BMC elections as a fight between "Shiv Shakti and money power", while urging party workers not to be discouraged by the setback.
The exit poll has predicted 138 seats for the Mahayuti in the 227-member civic body and 69 for Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray's MNS.
Except for Mumbai, the other urban bodies have multi-member wards. Vote count will take place on January 16.

The comments have added fuel to the ongoing speculation about a Sena UBT-MNS alliance ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.
