Samsung has started rolling out its Android 15-based One UI 7 update in India, beginning with the Galaxy S24 series. The update is being released in stages, following a phased approach similar to earlier. Initially released in South Korea on April 7, One UI 7 has since expanded to Europe and North America, with Indian users now joining the rollout queue.

To check for the One UI 7 update, users can go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install on their Galaxy devices. Since the rollout is happening in batches, some users might receive the update earlier than others, depending on their region and device variant.

The Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra are the first to receive the update in India. Other recent flagships like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are expected to follow shortly. Samsung also plans to extend One UI 7 to older premium models such as the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5 by the end of April. Devices like the Galaxy S22 lineup, Galaxy S21 series, and Galaxy S23 FE are scheduled to get the update in May.

Samsung One UI 7 update: New features
One UI 7 introduces a cleaner interface with improved home screen layouts, redesigned widgets, and easier lock screen customisation. A new feature called Now Bar displays real-time updates such as fitness progress and music playback directly on the lock screen.

The update brings enhanced Galaxy AI tools, including AI Select for extracting specific video content and Writing Assist for summarising or reformatting long text. Drawing Assist and Audio Eraser support content creators with sketch-to-text and noise-removal tools.

Samsung has also deepened integration with Google’s Gemini AI, enabling natural language interactions through the side button for suggestions and actions like display adjustments based on user input.

Things to keep in mind
Users are advised to back up data and ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection before installing the update. While the rollout has begun, it may take a few days to reach all eligible devices.
