Panasonic launches Lumix S9 compact full-frame mirrorless camera in India: Price, availability and features

Panasonic Life Solutions India has launched the Lumix S9 full-frame mirrorless camera in India. Panasonic says that it is the smallest and lightest Lumix S Series camera to date. The company has also launched the Lumix Lab app in India.

Available in four colour options - Jet Black, Crimson Red, Dark Olive and Night Blue– the Lumix S9 starts at Rs 1,49,990 for the S9 body and Rs 1,79,990 for the S9 kit with LumixS9 body and 20-60mm lens.

The Lumix S9 camera will be available at Lumix Lounges, dealers across India and Panasonic’s D2C site.

Panasonic Lumix S9 camera: Features

The Lumix S9 features a compact and lightweight design, weighing approximately 403g (0.89 lb). The Lumix S9 full frame mirrorless camera is equipped with approx. 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor--similar to the flagship Lumix S5II--and the latest engine for powerful imaging performance.

The Panasonic Lumix S9 comes armed with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus) for subject tracking and Active I.S. (Image Stabilization) to reduce handheld blurring.

According to Panasonic, the “enhanced real-time recognition AF with PDAF ensures precise subject tracking while industry-leading image stabilization technology, including 5-axis Dual I.S.2: 6.5 stops / Body I.S.: 5 stops and Active I.S., compensates for camera shake, even when shooting on the move. With perspective distortion correction and High mode in the E-Stabilization (Video) function, it is now possible to achieve even more stable footage when shooting on the move.”
