Now selfie with Shah Rukh Khan is possible without meeting him, all thanks to Gemini’s Nano Banana

The highlight of Nano Banana is how accurately it preserves a person’s likeness. AI editing tools often struggle with small details, a smile may look odd, hairstyles can appear unnatural, or facial features sometimes get distorted.

Taking a selfie with Shah Rukh Khan has always been a dream for millions of fans, and now technology is making that dream come true, virtually. Google DeepMind has rolled out its new image-editing model, Nano Banana, inside the Gemini app, and early use shows it can create strikingly realistic edits while keeping faces and features consistent.

The highlight of Nano Banana is how accurately it preserves a person’s likeness. AI editing tools often struggle with small details, a smile may look odd, hairstyles can appear unnatural, or facial features sometimes get distorted. This update changes that. Whether someone wants to stand next to a celebrity, test out a retro look, or add their pet into a family photo, the edited image still looks convincingly real.

In action, the feature is remarkably flexible. Uploading a photo and asking Gemini to add Shah Rukh Khan beside it generates a picture that looks like it was clicked at an actual event. Want to try a new outfit? The tool can swap in professional uniforms, Bollywood costumes, or casual styles, all while keeping the person’s face identical across edits.

The update also supports multi-photo blending. A user can merge their own picture with one of their pet to create a seamless portrait, perhaps a basketball game with their dog or a holiday scene at the beach. The multi-turn editing option makes it even more powerful. Start with an empty room, then add wallpaper, a sofa, or a bookshelf step by step without losing the original layout.

Another highlight is the ability to mix designs. For instance, the colors of a butterfly’s wings can be applied to a dress, or flower-petal textures can be used to design boots. And once the perfect edit is ready, it can even be turned into a video inside the Gemini app.

To maintain transparency, every image edited with Nano Banana comes with a visible watermark as well as Google’s invisible SynthID digital watermark, making it clear the photo was AI-generated.

From red carpets with SRK to experimenting with 70s hairstyles, Gemini’s Nano Banana takes imagination a step closer to reality. For fans and creators alike, it opens up a playful, safe, and surprisingly realistic way to be anywhere, and with anyone, without leaving home.
