New Witcher game “Reigns: The Witcher” announced: Platforms, release date and more

Fans of The Witcher games understand that they will have to wait quite a long time for The Witcher 4, which features Ciri as the protagonist. However, with the combined ‘witchery’ of three game studios, namely Nerial, Devolver Digital and CD Projekt Red, a new Witcher title is coming out this month itself. It’s called Reigns: The Witcher and will launch on PC and Mac (via Steam and GOG), Android and iOS on February 25.

Reigns: The Witcher is an interactive fiction game and part of the Reigns series. The new Witcher title is set in the game universe of CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher series. Developed by Nerial and published by Devolver Digital, the game pulls you into a set of adventures starring monster hunter Geralt of Rivia himself.

As per publisher Devolver Digital, players will play as “the White Wolf” Geralt of Rivia through the ballads of Geralt’s friend Dandelion in Reigns: The Witcher. As the legendary monster hunter, you will “navigate the moral maze and fight for survival through the drunken ballads of the bard.”

In Reigns: The Witcher, Geralt will get his contracts and take on different tasks, as usual, but the story is told through Dandelion’s ballads that take the storyline in “dramatic and peculiar directions, via thousands of storyline combinations,” the publisher noted. As you move ahead in the game’s story, Dandelion will be able to build “more epic plotlines and ultimately achieve legendary status.”

In Reigns: The Witcher, players will recount Geralt’s famed accomplishments as a monster slayer in true Dandelion fashion. They will also get to solve puzzles and unlock new deeds and characters.

The upcoming Witcher game also features Geralt’s friends and companions. Reigns: The Witcher includes important characters from the Witcher universe, such as Yennefer, Triss Merigold, and Vesemir.
