AI+ Smartphone, led by Madhav Sheth, has announced plans to launch what it claims will be India’s most affordable flip smartphone. The device, called NovaFlip, will be priced under Rs 40,000 and is scheduled to go on sale in the first quarter of 2026.

With this announcement, AI+ is entering the growing flip phone segment, which has so far been dominated by much more expensive devices. The company says the NovaFlip is meant for users who like the compact and practical nature of flip phones but still want the features of a modern smartphone.

NovaFlip will be the first model under the company’s new flagship Nova Series. This series will also include other premium devices such as the Nova Pro, Nova Ultra, and a foldable phone planned for the future. According to the company, the Nova Series is meant to expand its presence beyond mid-range phones and address users looking for newer form factors at more accessible prices.

AI+ said the NovaFlip will run on NxtQuantum OS, an operating system designed to work differently when the phone is folded and when it is opened. When the device is closed, the focus is on quick checks such as notifications and basic information. Once opened, it is meant to behave like a regular smartphone with a full-screen experience. The company has also highlighted that the operating system will not come with preloaded apps or tracking features, giving users more control over their data.

Commenting on the launch, Madhav Sheth said flip phones bring back a sense of simplicity that many users miss today. He pointed out that compact phones are easier to carry and less distracting, which appeals to people who do not want to be constantly glued to large screens. According to him, NovaFlip is designed for users who want to stay connected without feeling overwhelmed by their device.

The announcement comes after the launch of the Nova 5G smartphone in July 2025, which marked the beginning of the Nova lineup. With NovaFlip, AI+ is now moving into the premium flip phone category while keeping pricing lower than most existing options in the market.

The company has not yet shared detailed specifications, exact pricing, or sale dates. These details are expected to be revealed closer to the Q1 2026 launch. NovaFlip’s arrival is also part of AI+ Smartphone’s broader 5G plans, as it continues to expand its product range to cover different user needs and price segments.

More information about availability and features is expected early next year.
