Apple’s next generation of flagship iPhones, the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, is still a few months away from a formal launch. However, even before the official unveiling, leaks and early reports have given us a brief idea of what to expect from the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Initial reports suggest these models could introduce noticeable internal and design changes, with much of the attention currently centred on a possible redesign of the display and other big hardware changes. Here is a look at all the upgrades, design changes, and expected prices for the iPhone 18 Pro series.

According to recent reports, Apple is planning to add the Face ID components beneath the screen, which means that the familiar Dynamic Island cutout seen on recent iPhones could disappear. This could allow the front camera to move as near the top left corner of the display, making the screen look cleaner and providing a more uninterrupted viewing experience. Moreover, the reports also indicate that the overall design language of these phones may look similar to that of the iPhone 17 Pro lineup.

On the camera front, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to sport a similar triple camera setup with a 48MP main camera and a 12MP front camera. However, the camera system may receive notable upgrades, with the company likely to add a mechanical iris to one of the rear cameras, allowing the lens to adjust its aperture based on lighting conditions. This variable aperture support could offer greater flexibility in shooting photos and videos, especially in complex lighting environments.

The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to run on the upcoming A20 Pro processor, which is tipped to use TSMC’s next-generation 2nm manufacturing process. This could offer improved performance and power efficiency. Connectivity improvements are also expected, particularly on the Pro models, as Apple may include its next-generation C2 modem on the iPhone Pro lineup, which could help improve peak 5G speeds in markets where mmWave networks are available.

In terms of launch timing, Apple is expected to follow its traditional schedule, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max expected to debut around September 2026. Meanwhile, the vanilla iPhone 18 model could launch later, possibly in early 2027.
