Google Meet update rollout in India
The new Google Meet update is now rolling out to Android users globally via Google Play Store. To update, head to the Play Store, search Meet app and then download the update. Make sure that you have the Meet version 266 installed on the phone to see the new changes.
The revamped screen offers several new features designed to make connecting with colleagues and friends quicker and easier. The updated screen brings a pill-shaped search bar that allows users to search for contacts directly from the start screen, streamlining the process of finding and starting calls.
Additionally, the new layout features large, prominent buttons for creating meeting links, scheduling meetings, and starting group calls, enhancing the overall accessibility of the app.
Another notable change is the grid-based layout for suggested contacts, replacing the previous list-based view. This new design makes it easier for users to quickly initiate calls with frequent contacts, turning the process into a one-tap process.
There’s a new dedicated “Code” option placed within the search bar that lets users enter the meeting code and start an already scheduled meeting.
Apart from this, the entire design update brings the Meet app up to the Material 3 design language which brings a clean and minimalistic user interface.
