Google has just concluded its 10th edition of Google for India 2024 event. At the event, the company made several new announcements across all its products and services including AI features, UPI Circle for Google Pay and more. Here are some key announcements that Google has made at the event.

UPI Circle brings a group payment system where users can create payment groups for seamless peer-to-peer transactions within a defined circle (e.g., family or friends).

Google has collaboration with Aditya Birla Finance Limited and Muthoot Finance to offer new credit services, including gold-backed loans, on Google Pay.

Google has updated Gemini with support for the Hindi language along with 13 other languages from across the world. Google Gemini now supports Hindi for search and conversations.

Apart from this, Gemini AI will power tools across various Google products such as Google Lens, which will introduce a new video search capability, enhancing visual search and accessibility.

AI Agent Framework: Google launched an open-source AI agent framework in India, aimed at impacting agriculture and skills training through AI-driven initiatives.

Health and Digital Infrastructure Enhancements

Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission: Google is collaborating with the National Health Authority to streamline the integration of health apps with digital platforms. Starting next year, ABHA ID cards will be accessible via the Google Wallet app.

Online Safety Measures

Fraud Protection Pilot: Google will pilot enhanced fraud protection for Android users through Google Play Protect, offering better security against financial scams.

Google Safety Engineering Center (GSEC): Google announced plans to establish a new GSEC in India by 2025, focusing on online threat mitigation, scam prevention, and digital security for businesses and governments.
