At the RSA Conference 2024 in San Francisco, Google has announced its latest cybersecurity tool named Google Threat Intelligence. This new service aims to tackle the age-old problem of lack of cybersecurity and the lack of a comprehensive threat landscape view.
Google Threat Intelligence: All the details
Google Threat Intelligence enables users to gain insights and protect themselves from cyber fraud and digital monetary threats faster than ever.
Sunil Potti, vice president and general manager of Google Cloud Security, and Sandra Joyce, vice president of Google Threat Intelligence via a blog post said that Google Threat Intelligence will combine the services of the Mandiant cybersecurity unit, VirusTotal threat intelligence, and the Gemini AI model.
The Threat Intelligence tool uses Gemini 1.5 Pro large language model, which was launched in February, and Google says it hence promises much lower time to reverse engineer malware attacks. It scans and responds to threats more quickly and efficiently, and can process vast amounts of data in seconds.
Google also showcased the improved Gemini AI 1.5 Pro abilities, as with the help of Gemini AI, Threat Intelligence was able to decompile code of the malware file for WannaCry in a single attempt, taking 34 seconds to deliver its analysis and identify the kill switch.
It simplifies complex tasks and Google is promising to make this service more accessible to security professionals. Google Threat Intelligence will also search the web for relevant intelligence and then classify and convert it into actionable knowledge.
Google Threat Intelligence is currently available as a part of Google Cloud Security's comprehensive security portfolio.
