Ranveer Singh receives WhatsApp threat demanding crores; security tightened outside actor’s home

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly received a threatening WhatsApp voicemail demanding crores, prompting Mumbai Police to step up security outside his residence. Authorities are currently tracing the sender, while the motive behind the threat remains unclear.

Film producer Rohit Shetty recently became a victim of a shooting inicident and now Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has allegedly received a threatening voice note.

According to Mumbai police, the goons behind the voicenote have asked the actor for crores. As a precaution after the threat, security has been stepped up outside Ranveer’s home.

According to News18, the police said that they are working to find the sender of the voice note and authenticate its origin. The reason behind the threat is yet to be known. Additionally, no gang member has come forward to claim responsibility for the threat.

However, the initial reports have suggested that the Bishnoi gang is linked to sending the threat to Ranveer Singh.

On the work front, the actor is riding on the success of the recently released spy action thriller Dhurandhar. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film was released on December 5, 2025.

Dhurandhar became a huge box office hit, earning over Rs 1,305 crore globally and making history as the first Indian film in Hindi to reach Rs 1,000 crore in domestic net revenues. In a story about clandestine intelligence activities in the midst of international geopolitical tensions, Ranveer Singh portrayed Hamza Ali Mazari, whose true name is revealed to be Jaskirat Singh Rangi.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge, a sequel, was also announced soon after the blockbuster success of the first film. With flashbacks to his childhood role as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, Ranveer Singh reprises his role as Hamza in the trailer.

Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Akshaye Khanna are among the returning cast members. The sequel to the movie is scheduled to open in theatres on March 19.

Ranveer Singh is married to Deepika Padukone and shares a daughter, Dua Padukone Singh. The couple tied the knot on 14 November, 2018. They embraced parenthood for the first time on September 8, 2024.
