Microsoft-owned developer platform GitHub on June 10 said it has partnered with Infosys to launch its first GitHub Center of Excellence (CoE). The collaboration is aimed at speeding up the process of software production partnering with Global System Integrators (GSIs).
"By enabling their developers with GitHub Copilot organization-wide, and extending the capabilities to their customers, GSI's can generate a globalized step change in the speed of software production," Thomas Dohmke, chief executive officer, GitHub, said in his X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn accounts.
In his post, Dohmke said GSIs sit at the intersection of the artificial intelligence (Al) and software economies. This position presents a generational opportunity to accelerate digital transformation and economic growth across every region, he added.
Dohmke further said that by enabling developers with GitHub Copilot organization-wide, and extending the capabilities to their customers, GSI's can generate a globalised step change in the speed of software production.
"Together with Infosys, we will achieve just this-delivering a new wave of business value for software in the global economy," Dohmke said.
The launch of the CoE saw chief technology officer Rafee Tarafdar and executive vice president Balakrishna D.R. in attendance.
"A new day has begun for the world's GSl's. The Age of Copilot is here," Dohmke announced.
