Garena has started rolling out the latest update for the popular game Free Fire Max in India. The OB48 update brings new weapons, the MyZone event, and various gameplay improvements. The update aims to enhance customisation, balance weapons, and introduce new mechanics. Here's everything that's new with the update.
MyZone event: Battlefield customisationThe MyZone event introduces Tech Workshops across maps, allowing players to spend FF Coins on Tech Artifacts, which provide strategic advantages.
Hypercrates: Unlock after 50 seconds, revealing special weapons and loot.
Mushroom Generators: Spawn Cyber Mushrooms, including Wealth Mushrooms that grant 200 FF Coins.
Super Radars: Scan a 200-meter radius, marking enemy locations for five seconds.
A voting event lets players unlock more powerful artifacts, adding a community-driven element to customization.
Weapon adjustments and special boostsThe update includes balance changes and special boosts for several weapon types.
Special weapon boosts: Infrared, Infinite, and Focused.
Adjusted weapons: Marksman Rifles (SKS, AC80), Assault Rifles (PLASMA, Shield Gun), Sniper Rifles (AWM, M82B, VSK94, Kar98K), SMG (Thompson), Pistols (G18, M1917), and Shotguns (Charge Buster).
Explosion-related weapons and items: Adjustments to ensure fairer combat.
Sound optimization: Improved clarity for better feedback.
Backpack capacity and inventory changes
The update addresses backpack capacity limitations by increasing storage space and adjusting item weights.
Backpack capacity has increased:
Lv. 1: 60 to 100
Lv. 2: 180 to 240
Lv. 3: 300 to 360
Weight adjustments:SG and Sniper ammo weight increased by 50%.
Throwable item weight increased by 60%.
Clash Squad and Lone Wolf mode enhancements
Clash Squad mode integrates the MyZone event, replacing Cyber Airdrops with Hypercrate Drops, which have expanded capture areas and more shelter. Lone Wolf mode introduces a Duel Mode for in-group friend duels, while simplifying map layouts.
New character and character reworksThe OB48 update introduces Oscar, Night Vigilante, who has the "Valiant Dash" skill, allowing him to dash forward, detonating Gloo Walls and dealing damage. Ignis, Flame Mirage receives a rework, with a new skill that deploys a moving flaming screen damaging enemies and Gloo Walls.
Character updates:Xayne, Shani, Luqueta, and Antonio’s Shield Points (SP) skills are adjusted.
Koda’s cooldown is reduced, and movement speed is increased.
Wolfrahh’s headshot damage reduction is lowered.
Lila’s skill is now compatible with Marksman Rifles.
Nikita’s healing deduction effect is increased.
Santino’s mannequin usage is optimised.
Gameplay and system updatesThe update introduces gameplay improvements, including Guild Wars updates, elimination replay enhancements, and BR mode adjustments.
CS mode is added to Guild Wars.
Elimination Replay now hides the minimap and provides detailed information.
Supply Gadgets in CS mode are improved.
Vehicle explosion mechanics adjusted.
Account recovery via email introduced.
Settings page revamped for easier navigation.
Ranked Goal Guidance and spectator endorsements added.
Craftland updates and AI generationCraftland receives new features, improving customization and creativity.
New plot system: Dialogue plot systems introduced.
