Oppo has expanded its Reno smartphone lineup in China with the launch of the Oppo Reno 15C. While the device has debuted in Oppo’s home market, reports indicate that it could arrive in India as the Oppo Reno 15. A recent report by 91Mobiles suggests that the Chinese variant offers a clear indication of what Indian consumers can expect from the upcoming Reno series smartphone.
Oppo Reno 15C launchThe Oppo Reno 15C has been introduced as an incremental upgrade over the Reno 14 series, focusing on performance, battery capacity, and display continuity. Although Oppo has not yet shared detailed rollout plans for international markets, the Reno 15C is expected to be rebranded as the Oppo Reno 15 for India, following the company’s past launch strategy.
Oppo Reno 15C features and hardware detailsAccording to available information, the Oppo Reno 15C is expected to feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display specifications are similar to the Reno 14, maintaining consistency in screen size and visual performance.
A notable change is in the processor. The Reno 15C is tipped to replace the MediaTek Dimensity 8350, seen on the Reno 14, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. This shift is expected to offer improved efficiency and performance across daily tasks and gaming.
In terms of build, the smartphone is likely to use an aluminium alloy frame and offer dust and water resistance, reportedly up to an IP69 rating. This would place it among devices designed to handle challenging environmental conditions.
The camera setup on the Oppo Reno 15C is expected to mirror its predecessor. It may include a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens offering up to 3.5x optical zoom. On the front, a 50MP selfie camera is expected. While the overall configuration remains similar, minor sensor-level changes cannot be ruled out.
Battery capacity appears to be one of the key upgrades. The Oppo Reno 15C is expected to pack a 6,500mAh battery, a jump from the 5,000mAh unit on the Reno 14, while retaining support for 80W fast charging.
Oppo has not officially announced the price of the Reno 15C in China at the time of writing. Similarly, there is no confirmed timeline for the India launch. However, if rebranded as the Oppo Reno 15, the device is expected to launch in India in the coming months, running Android 16-based ColorOS 16 out of the box.
