Frostpunk 2 is coming to consoles this summer

City-building survival game Frostpunk 2 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Summer 2025, developer 11bit Studios revealed in posts on the Steam and Instagram platforms. Earlier released on PC in September 2024, Frostpunk 2 will take console players to its severe, unforgiving cold in the hot summers of 2025.

When 11bit Studios launched Frostpunk 2 for PC last year, they’d also confirmed it for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Warsaw-based game developer presented the roadmap for Frostpunk 2 in December and revealed that the survival game would launch in 2025. The new announcement, however, narrows that window down to a much nearer summer of 2025.

Via the updated roadmap, 11bit Studios also revealed that Frostpunk 2 will get a "Free Content Update" on May 8, 2025.

In the Steam and Instagram posts, the developers said:

“May 8th - A day to be remembered: a Free Major Content Update that will adjust the City’s management, paying homage to the order established by the first New Londoners.
• Summer – A grand undertaking: the Console Port.
• Autumn – Reaching the Spectrum DLC, which may help us learn more about ourselves and the people of our great city in more ways than one…
Moreover, scouts report that the arrival of Spring shall bring significant developments for the people of New London”.

Frostpunk 2 is set 30 years after the events of 2018’s Frostpunk. After Earth is hit by a devastating blizzard, a global volcanic winter nearly destroys the entire human civilisation. In such a post-apocalyptic world, you have to build and manage a city.
