Sci-fi survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn has a confirmed release date. Developer Bloober Team revealed the release date of its upcoming sci-fi horror game during the July 2025 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. The third-person horror game will launch on September 5, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG). Bloober Team also announced a Nintendo Switch 2 port for Cronos: The New Dawn, along with new trailers; one specifically for the new Nintendo console and the other, a release date trailer.
In the lore of Cronos: The New Dawn, a cataclysmic event known as The Change occurred in the 80s, ending the world and altering humanity forever. In the game, you will time travel as one of the Travelers who is looking for time rifts in the wastelands of the future overrun by “nightmarish abominations” known as the Orphans so that she can go back to 1980s Poland.
The Traveler’s goal is to extract key people from this past who didn’t survive the apocalypse and also stop the Orphans “from merging into unstoppable abominations.” The Travellers are the only ones in Cronos who can go back into the past and survive encounters with aforementioned monstrous beings.
As per the developers, Cronos is designed as “a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology.”
