Global design application company Canva on May 23 launched its new subscription-based offering Canva Enterprise, catering to demand from large companies, coming at a time when generative AI-focused design solutions are in focus for rivals like Adobe.
Canva is already being used by teams across 95 percent of Fortune 500 companies, making this a major step for the company to increase penetration among existing enterprise customers.
The Australian design studio, which is currently hosting its first ever Canva Create event in Los Angeles, also announced a slew of updates to its offerings and new services, including a revamped user interface of the website and upgrades to its AI-focussed offering Magic Studio that was launched in October 2023.
The website redesign is happening for the first time in a decade, as the company enters its enterprise era.
Melanie Perkins, co-founder and CEO of Canva said, “As demand for visual content soars, navigating organizational complexity is more challenging than ever. We democratized the design ecosystem in our first decade and now look forward to unifying the fragmented ecosystems of design, AI, and workflow tools for every organization in our second decade.”
Canva Enterprise will be helping large organisations create huge quantities of visual content that will be easily scalable for internal collaboration.
“It will offer consolidate design, content production, AI and collaboration tools in one centralized account to scale impact while reducing cost and complexity,” the company said. This offering will come with robust enterprise-level security tools as well.
Canva also unveiled vertical-focused tools for every team, starting with marketing, HR, Sales and Creative departments. This includes Canva Work Kits, industry-curated collections of hundreds of craft-specific templates, from presentations to documents, built to enable teams to scale their output with easy-to-access tools. These templates will be further customisable for the user.
Upgrades to Magic Studio
Canva said that Magic Studio, its end-to-end artificial intelligence (AI) enabled offering, has been used more than 6.5 billion times since its launch in October.
In the new capability upgrades, Canva has enabled text to graphic, improved AI design technology for presentations, convert any design to custom document, AI-powered highlights cuts for video clips, among other updates.
Canva’s business
Canva currently has over 185 million monthly active users and more than $2.3 billion in annualized revenue. “In just over 18 months since the introduction of Canva’s workplace-focused Visual Suite, more than 95 million new users have joined the platform, a figure that first took the company nearly nine years to achieve”, the company said.
In October, Co-founder and COO Clifford Obrecht had called India one its most valuable and important markets. Canva even made Magic Studio available in 11 Indian languages such as Assamese, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Maithili, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Sindhi, Tamil, and Telugu.
